Kayla Hotalen, CSW

Hi, I’m Kayla. I work with children, teens, young adults, and families navigating anxiety, life transitions, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, family conflict, and identity development. I’m especially passionate about helping families strengthen communication, improve connection, and better understand the patterns that impact their relationships and daily lives.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and relationship-centered. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. I strive to create a space where clients can openly explore challenges without judgment while building practical tools, emotional awareness, and confidence in themselves and their relationships. I often incorporate family systems perspectives, play-based interventions, and developmentally appropriate approaches when working with children and adolescents.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Social Justice from Utah Tech University and my Master’s degree in Social Work from Arkansas State University. My background includes working with foster teens in a group home setting, crisis-focused community mental health work, and supporting children, adolescents, and families in private practice.

I also enjoy supporting individuals and families in the perinatal stage of life and helping young adults navigate independence, self-esteem, and the transition into adulthood. My goal is to help clients feel more connected, capable, and supported as they work toward healthier relationships and meaningful growth.

Outside of the office, I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, traveling, skiing, and anything connected to the western lifestyle and rodeo community.

If you’re looking for a therapist who values authenticity, connection, and creating a supportive space for growth and healing, I would be honored to work with you.
