Melissa Anderson, CSW
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, trauma, relationship stress, or life transitions, you don’t have to face it alone. I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families to create a supportive space where people can feel safe exploring their experiences and beginning the process of healing and growth. My goal is to help you feel comfortable being yourself, talking openly, and moving forward at a pace that feels right for you.
Before joining Willard Family Therapy, I gained experience in crisis response, schools, juvenile systems, and outpatient mental health. These experiences have helped me understand how personal struggles, family dynamics, and larger systems can all impact someone’s well-being.
In therapy, I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I also support couples and families who are navigating communication challenges, parenting stress, infidelity, or relational conflict. I strive to provide inclusive and respectful care for LGBTQ+ individuals and families exploring identity, sexuality, and belonging.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed and collaborative. I draw from several evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapy designed to help people process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences, CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS-informed work, mindfulness, narrative therapy, solution-focused strategies, and Gottman-informed methods when working with couples.
I believe therapy should feel steady, collaborative, and supportive. My goal is to create a calm and compassionate space where clients feel heard and understood as we work together toward greater clarity, stability, and connection in their lives and relationships.
